Behind The Mission
Our founders, Brian Curcio and Myles Gage met freshman year of high school in Chicago during the 2008 financial crisis and bonded over a passion for finance.
In April 2018, Myles and Brian launched Rapunzl's first scholarship competition in Chicago, driving to more than 120 high schools.
They taught in hundreds of classrooms, engaged over 2,500 students, and realized a critical need in classrooms for financial literacy tools.
In 2023, Myles and Brian were named to Forbes 30 Under 30, Brian currently serves as a Yass Prize Fellow, and Myles serves as a fellow for the Social Change Fund United.

Our inaugural scholarship winner in 2018, Destiny Davis, attended an alternative high school on Chicago’s Westside, and was on track to attend the military after graduation.
Rapunzl’s scholarship allowed Destiny to continue her studies at Northeastern Illinois University and graduate in 2022.
She has since interned at some of the most prestigious financial firms in the country, rang the opening bell at Nasdaq in Times Square, and enrolled in a Master’s program at Michigan State.

People often view the world of finance & high-returns of Wall Street as trapped in an Ivory Tower - inaccessible and out of reach for most.
Rapunzl provides everyone with an opportunity to learn how to invest; and by doing so, we are rolling down the hair which allows everyone to climb to financial success.
