Behind The Mission
Our founders, Brian and Myles, met freshman year of high school in Chicago during the 2008 financial crisis and bonded over a passion for finance.
In April 2018, they launched Rapunzl's first scholarship competition in Chicago, driving to more than 120 high schools and teaching over 200 classrooms.
Rapunzl engaged 2,653 students in our first city-wide competition, awarded $10,000 in scholarships, and that was only the beginning.
In 2023, Myles and Brian were named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in recognition of their work promoting financial literacy across the nation.

Our inaugural scholarship winner in 2018, Destiny Davis, attended an alternative high school on Chicago’s Westside, and was on track to attend the military after graduation.
Rapunzl’s scholarship allowed Destiny to continue her studies at Northeastern Illinois University and graduate in 2022.
She has since interned at some of the most prestigious financial firms in the country, rang the opening bell at Nasdaq in Times Square, and enrolled in a Master’s program at Michigan State.

People often view the world of finance & high-returns of Wall Street as trapped in an Ivory Tower - inaccessible and out of reach for most.
